This course presents a better understanding of Automotive Preventative Maintenance. Included in Preventive Maintenance are the following: visual inspections and hands-on lubrication, tune-up, emission controls, brakes, tires, electrical, front-end, air conditioning, exhaust system, cooling system, fluid levels, belts, hoses, primary wiring, and last but not least, state safety requirements.
- Be able to understand the importance of following safety procedures.
- Be able to perform basic minor maintenance.
- Comprehend system functions in a vehicle.
- Understand the importance and procedures for preventative maintenance.
The course is held the 3rd Thursday of every month from 6-8 p.m. Cost is $30. For more information, contact Auto Hobby at 671-3549.
Car Care Because We Care is an Air Force Aid Society sponsored program
to support spouses of deployed members by issuing them a voucher for
a free oil change and vehicle safety inspection at the Auto Hobby
Shop. The vouchers can be picked up at the Family Support Center,
Bldg. 1249, Kenly Avenue during regular duty hours. The basic oil
change includes an in-stock oil filter and up to five quarts of oil
(up to $25 value) at the Lackland Services Auto Hobby Shop, Bldg 7245,
Carswell Street. The prices do not include synthetic oil. For more
