National Children's Book Month May 30th
Asian Pacific Heritage Month Celebration May 31st You are invited to join the Lackland Main Library staff as they celebrate Asian Pacific Heritage Month. On Saturday, May 31 from 2 to 4 p.m. explore Asian Pacific Heritage through a cooking demonstration, craft making and DVD entertainment.
Summer Reading Program
Get your kids ready for the Summer Reading Program. This year’s theme is “Back to the Future” and runs June 16-July 31. This six-week program will move from dinosaurs in the prehistoric past to an alien visitor’s party to wrap things up. Your kids will have fun exploring ancient Egypt, pirates, the Wild West, and much more. For more info, contact the library at 671-3610.
Cookies and Coloring Sheets for Kids
Children and their parents can come in for cookies and coloring sheets, May12-18, in celebration of National Children’s Book Week.
Make and Take a Craft for Mother’s Day
Come in and make a Mother’s Day craft at your Lackland Base Library. The library will have a “Make and Take” craft table set up May 5-9 so the kids can make a wonderful gift for mom.
Make a Gift for Dad at the Library June 15th is Father’s Day and the kids can come into the Lackland Base Library June 9-13 to make a snappy gift for dad at the “Make and Take” table.
Computer Reliability Increases
Come in and check out the new, faster Internet service at both Lackland libraries. A new Internet service provider contract is in place which will give us faster service and more reliable connectivity. The Patient Library has also added two new computers to its collection for a total of six. The Base Library has 68 computers for public use.
